We’re proud to share that our parent company Henkel has achieved two GreenCircle Certified designations at its West Hazleton, Pennsylvania manufacturing facility. This is where most of your favorite eco-friendly Dial® body wash, liquid soaps , & foaming hand soaps* are made. These third-party certifications reflect our ongoing commitment toward sustainable manufacturing and environmental responsibility. Learn more about what these certifications mean, and why they matter to you and the planet.
GreenCircle Certified is a internationally recognized, independent certification body that verifies sustainability claims with full transparency. Established in 2009, GreenCircle was created to combat unverified environmental claims in the marketplace. They are ISO 17065 compliant, ensuring rigorous and credible valuation. They are accredited by ANSI National Accreditation Board (ANAB), adding an additional layer of oversight. Lastly, they are also recognized by the U.S Federal Government, the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR), and the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC).
When you see a GreenCircle Certified logo on select Dial® product pages, you can trust it’s been audited and verified by an independent party, not just claimed by the brand.
Receiving two GreenCircle Certifications, we want to highlight what each one means and the importance of these two certifications.
As part of our commitment to lower carbon emissions, Henkel’s West Hazleton PA facility has achieved GreenCircle’s Certified Environmental Facts (CEF) certification. This recognition was awarded for reducing the carbon footprint by 17% in the production of a select range of Dial® liquid soap, foaming soap, and body wash products (for the certification period of 1/1/25 thru 12/31/27)*.
Henkel was awarded this achievement through:
- Verified reductions in energy consumption and improvements in energy efficiency
- Sustainable design improvements in the manufacturing process
Due to these sustainable practices, Dial® now qualifies for Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly badge, which you’ll now see on specific Dial® products on Amazon.
Reducing our carbon footprint is key to addressing climate change. With GreenCircle’s independent validation, customers can feel confident that Dial® is producing lower-impact, sustainable body wash and hand soap products, without sacrificing product quality.
Henkel’s West Hazleton PA site has also achieved Zero Waste to Landfill certification from GreenCircle. This means 100% of waste is diverted from landfill.
Waste reduction is a crucial part of eco-conscious manufacturing. This certification proves that Dial® is taking real, measurable action to eliminate waste and repurpose resources.
Many companies claim to be “green,” but not all environmental claims are created equal. GreenCircle helps eliminate the guesswork with clear, independently verified standards. For Dial®, this means:
- Verified sustainability metrics
- Recognition across federal and global purchasing programs.
- A transparent path toward long-term environmental progress.
These certifications help customers make informed decisions when shopping for sustainable hand soap and body wash products.
For over 75 years, Dial® has been a trusted household name. Today, we’re proud to evolve as a more sustainable choice in personal care by embracing verified sustainable manufacturing practices. For us, this milestone represents a commitment to carbon footprint reduction, a move toward zero waste operations, and transparency through third-party sustainability certifications.
